Every year, visitors from around the U.S. (and all over the world!) come to New England farms to enjoy the seasonal colors, outdoor activities and fruits and vegetables available for picking.
Caroline Veahman, Produce Farmer and Connecticut Local, is one of many people who will always have a soft spot for New England in the fall/autumn!
If you ask Produce Farmer and owner of a Granby, Connecticut farm, Caroline Veahman, she’ll be the first to tell you: there’s nowhere better to enjoy the fall/autumn season than New England! And Veahman isn’t just saying that because she is working on running her own Connecticut farm. More than eight-million people visit New Hampshire alone during the fall foliage season. Steeped in history and filled with serene hiking trails perfect for outdoor adventures, Connecticut also welcomes its fair share of New England tourists and adventurers. Even as a local, Veahman embraces the adventures of the area. She enjoys visiting Farmer’s Market events all throughout New England, in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
The Connecticut local is working on creating her own produce farm specializing in growing fruits and vegetables and hosting autumn outdoor activities. Until her own Granby, CT produce farm is running in full-swing, Caroline Veahman will continue to visit local New England Farms for all of her produce needs. Here are some of Connecticut Produce Farmer Veahman’s favorite New England farms:
New England Farms
Clover Nook Farm in Bethany, CT
Clover Nook is a year-round farm market offering a wide range of fresh, high-quality local food. Caroline Veahman particularly appreciates the overall local feel that Clover Nook brings to the Connecticut community. In addition to the farm’s own freshly grown fruits and vegetables, the market has a full inventory of locally raised meats, dairy products and even fresh baked bread!
Red Apple Farm in Phillipston, MA
Red Apple Farm is one of Caroline Veahman’s favorite farms to enjoy autumn outdoor activities. The family farm welcomes visitors to enjoy seasonal events in the fall, including music concerts, hayrides and apple picking opportunities. But that’s not all: Red Apple Farm offers Pick Your Own (PYO) Fruit all year-round! Veahman enjoys visiting Red Apple Farm to pick blueberries and raspberries in late summer and, of course, pumpkin picking in the fall. The future produce farmer looks forward to offering similar PYO Fruit and Vegetable opportunities to guests of the Veahman Produce Farm in Granby, CT.
